Steak Queso Rice is the perfect weeknight meal that combines tender steak, cheesy queso, and fluffy rice for a delicious and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup queso cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the flank steak with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add steak to the skillet and cook until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Remove steak from skillet and let rest before slicing.
  5. In the same skillet, add cooked rice and queso cheese, stirring until cheese is melted and combined.
  6. Add sliced steak on top of the queso rice and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For added spice, consider adding jalapeños to the queso.
  • Leftover steak can also be used for this recipe.
