  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add milk gradually, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in salt, pepper, and paprika.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in cheddar and mozzarella until melted.
  7. Add cooked macaroni and turkey bacon; stir to combine.
  8. Pour into a baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños.
