1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until combined.
Fold in the heavy cream until the dough is smooth.
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets and flatten slightly.
Sprinkle a little granulated sugar on top of each cookie.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden.
Cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For added flavor, you can include a pinch of nutmeg in the dough.
Ensure the heavy cream is really cold before adding it to the dough.
