  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add egg and molasses, then mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  7. Drop cookie dough onto baking sheets, make a well in the center, and fill with cream cheese mixture.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.
